Mohiniyattom is the typical dance form of Kerala is fusion of Bharathanatyam and Kathakali as it combines the gracefull elements of Bharathanatyam and the dynamism and the wigor of Kathakali. The performances are done only by women. The prrdominant mood created is "sringaram". The another feature that influances Mohiniyattom is the symplicity of dressing by the people in Kerala which is visible in the costume of the dancer. White is the favourite colour of the people basically because of the hot and humid climate and a Mohiniyattom costume is always white or off white with gold or red border. The face is done up with an exaggerated eye make-up to help her express her emotions. The eyes reflect immediately the mental state of the situation or the character the dancer is representing and the description of Mohiniyattom can not be complete without the mention of "The Nine abhinaya " or the use of the eyes, eyebrows and eye lips and the end of it all the transformation is tremendous.
